About Emma
Hi! I am a freelance illustrator and animator with an educational background in both science and art. It is my passion to utilize illustration, graphic design, and digital media to improve the effective communication of scientific concepts to the general public, key stakeholders, and granting agencies.
I’ve filled many roles over the years and have oodles of experience using visual communication for knowledge translation including: designing web pages, editing video and enhancing them with visual effects, making whiteboard-style explainer videos, designing brochures for both print and online use, motion graphic animation, medical illustration, 3D animation… I haven’t done anything with VR yet, but it is on my to-do list. I have also dabbled in web development, social media outreach, and brand strategy.
I have had the opportunity to work with both physicians and scientifically-focused businesses on a wide variety of projects. Every project has been an amazing experience to learn more about science, biology, medicine… and then, the best part is that I get to use my skills as an artist to help foster understanding in others too.
